The TREE Fund Board of Trustees welcomes back Jim Barborinas, owner of Urban Forestry Services, Inc. Jim served as a Trustee from 2003-2007, and championed our cause as TREE Fund Liaison to the PNW Chapter for many years. He and his wife, Annie, were lead donors in the 2008 Endowment Campaign, endowing the Barborinas Fund to support research related to tree planting, roots and the improvement of tree varieties for nurseries. Jim was named TREE Fund Volunteer of the Year in 2008.
New TREE Fund Chairman Jim Zwack, Director of Technical Services for The Davey Institute, took the helm of the TREE Fund Board January 1. Jim leads a strong Executive Committee which includes Chairman-Elect Randy Miller (PacifiCorp), Treasurer John Hendricksen and Vice Chairman Doug Anderson (Anderson‚Äôs Tree Care). Jim is a veteran Tour rider, former Liaison to the Minnesota Chapter and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2010. He succeeds Mike Neal of APS, whose leadership and contributions to the TREE Fund were recognized (mostly respectfully) at a dinner during the annual Trustee Retreat and Workshop.

Nominate a TREE Fund Volunteer of the Year for 2012! June 30th is the deadline to nominate a TREE Fund volunteer who contributed ‚Äúabove and beyond the call of duty‚Äù in 2012. Past recipients of the coveted Ken Ottman Volunteer of the Year beer stein include: Mike Neal, John Lloyd, Jim Zwack, John Goodfellow and Jim Barborinas. The award will be presented at the 2013 ISA Conference in Toronto.
