Member Services

The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (PNW-ISA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering research and education about proper tree care in the Pacific Northwest.

The PNW-ISA is a member organization of arborists, urban foresters, educators and tree care enthustiasts from Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. We have nearly 1,000 members actively engaged in promoting proper tree care. The PNW-ISA is a chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture, a worldwide organization comprised of more than 13,000 members.

PNW-ISA Membership Benefits

Upon joining the PNW-ISA Chapter you will receive:

  • A 20% discount on all PNW Chapter-sponsored classes, events, textbooks and other merchandise.
  • A subscription to "Pacific Northwest Trees," a quarterly publication highlighting events, new technology and current information about the practice of tree care.
  • Networking opportunities, an opportunity to learn and share your expertise, and all the benefits of belonging to a professional organization.

    Member Categories

    Chapter and ISA Membership. Membership in the PNW Chapter and the International Society of Arboriculture provides all the benefits of the Chapter membership listed above, plus:

  • Subscriptions to the "Journal of Arboriculture" and "Arborists News" magazines.
  • Member discounts on a wider array of books, videos and merchandise available through ISA.
  • A member directory and other networking benefits.
  • Sustaining Membership. Individuals wishing to make a significant donation to the PNW Chapter may receive a tax deduction. The PNW-ISA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

    Life Membership. Individuals may purchase a lifetime membership in the PNW-ISA in lieu of paying annual dues.

    Student Membership. Students enrolled in a two- or four-year college degree program in arboriculture or a related field are eligible for a special student membership for both the PNW Chapter and the International Society of Arboriculture. Proof of enrollment and your faculty advisors' approval must accompany your membership form.

    Certification

    The PNW-ISA holds exams as part of the ISA Certification program. To become a Certified Arborist you must have three years experience and pass a 200-question exam covering all facets of tree care.
